Advice from an Expert Fashionista: Best Day to Night Fashions

Recently I had an incredible opportunity to ask an expert fashionista, Caprice Willard, Vice President, Regional Planning Manager, Ready-To-Wear, Macy's Southwest, some questions about the new fashion trends for winter 2011.

With all of the holiday gatherings and dinners coming up, I just had to find out what the best day to night fashion pieces are for this season.

And here is what Caprice Willard, had to say, "We're seeing more amazing dresses this season than ever before, especially in eveningwear. There is considerable influence from "Mad Men" and some of the more classic tailoring of previous eras, all accessorized with pearls and gold chains. The Pencil Skirt is also very important - matched back to an embellished top or feminine blouse, this becomes the perfect day to dinner outfit. Change your accessories and you are ready to go!"

The great thing about all of the items Caprice listed is that they are all fabulous wardrobe additions because of their versatility, and for you, that means more bang for your buck. A strand of pearls and a gold chain can be worn pretty much anytime and with most outfits. And of course the pencil skirt and blouse are extremely versatile pieces, as well.
On a recent trip to Macy's I went on a mission to find awesome pieces that fit Caprices descriptions, simply to give you an idea of what to look for when you are out shopping.
