Steal Gwyneth Paltrow's Celeb Style with Loquita

Unquestionably a style icon, Gwyneth Paltrow has a way of always looking pulled together, whether on the red carpet or picking the kids up from school. Known for her ability to accessorize, Gwyneth is frequently seen rocking scarves to top off any look from day to night. Sara Rotman, fashion guru and founder of cult scarf brand Loquita, claims this style is easy to steal. Bad news - we can’t lend you a rocker husband and Academy Award nomination. Good news - we can help you look like you just scored both.

Wow! Hillary is looking absolutely FAB!

Photo: Zimbio

The lovely Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum.....Isn't she fab?

This photo was taken as she arrived yesterday at the David Letterman show in NYC.

I totally love her dress. The classic, fitted silhouette is fab!

In case you need one too...
Hillary is wearing a 3/4 sleeve black cocktail dress from THEIA.

The dress is available in grape (a beautiful dark purple) at Neiman Marcus for $850. The black version, like Hillary Scott is wearing will be available in NM stores
within the next few weeks. I have a feeling these will go fast with the holidays coming...

 I think I am holdin' out - I want black :)

The Frye Company Opens Flagship Store in NYC

The Frye Company, one of my absolute favorite boot makers has just opened their new flagship store in the historic SoHo district in NYC. A must-stop if you are in the area.

Being a favorite to celebs and the fashion forward since 1863, Frye boots have been spotted on trendy celebs like Anne Hathway, Jessica Simpson, Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock and Pink. If you are a boot lover, you have got to try a pair of Frye boots- you will love them!

Frye boots are beautifully handcrafted and so durable they will seriously last forever. So you will never be able to use the excuse...."I need to buy new Frye boots because mine are worn out"...it simply doesn't happen with Frye.

The new Frye flagship store in SoHo NYC....

After what I heard (from my PR contact) The Frye Company had an incredible launch party last Thursday night. (I already had plans when I got the invite..boo-hoo, but now I have another reason to plan a stop in NYC)

The most talked about? The size and decor of the store. With 6,000 sq ft of space and an incredible decor, this Frye store will be one of the best reasons to hit Spring Street.

The design of the new NYC store is a fresh take on Frye's heritage and includes exposed brick walls, arched insets, ornate decorative columns, ten-inch-wide reclaimed oak flooring, reclaimed barn doors, and soaring 15-foot black tin ceilings accentuated by custom-made brass lighting pendants.

The shopping displays for the boots include a mix of wood, banker wire, and steel, inspired by vintage, workshops, machinery and tools. And the accents, like the large pieces of artwork, the lush rugs, and the rich leather sofas, create a warm and inviting shopping environment.

In addition to their fab boots, shoes, and handbags, The Frye Company will also offer some limited-edition products available only at the NYC flagship store including an exclusive gold and silver jewelry collection by Los Angeles designer Tara Cullen, with other collaborations to be announced after the launch.
The So-Ho NYC store is located at 113 Spring Street. It is just the first of several new stores Frye is planning to open nationally and internationally over the next five years. Some of the new locations they are considering include Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas, Aspen and London.

Oooh...come on Los Angeles. That would mean only a two hour drive to shop at one of my most-loved stores...totally worth it!

Do you Need 'Blackberry Botox'?

Wrinkles may be a sign of approaching middle age but younger women now have a reason to worry — the smartphone squint. Many of them are developing premature wrinkles from staring at their smartphones, says Dr. Brian Glatt, a New Jersey City’s board-certified plastic surgeon. According to Dr. Glatt, “The trend for ‘BlackBerry Botox’ is highly increasing especially among women who are addicted to gazing on their BlackBerries or iPhones all day. Peering at a small screen causes facial strain, around and between the brows which may cause premature wrinkles on the face.”

Smartphone-related wrinkles are the latest condition that doctors attribute to overuse of technology. Others include ‘BlackBerry thumb’ – a form of repetitive strain injury caused by excessive texting.

Tips for Smartphone users to help prevent against the need for Blackberry Botox

1. Take a break – It’s important to put down or at least glance up from your Smartphone regularly so that your eyes can rest. Though squinting is necessary when using a Smartphone, taking time to relax your eyes can make a significant difference in reducing this new type of strain on your facial muscles.

2. Turn the light down low – too much light and contrast can cause you to narrow the eyes to take in the brightness. A no-no for fresh-looking eye contours. Combat the dreaded ‘crow’s feet’ effect by dimming the screen in your ‘settings’ options – and see how low you can go on the light emission. The less, the better. (as a bonus, this will also help preserve your phone’s battery life!)

3. Enlarge the text – If you find yourself struggling to read the small text on your Smartphone and start holding it so close you wrinkle your nose so much it hurts, just enlarge the text by simply going to your settings and altering the text size. Also, the zoom function can be a fantastic thing – use it to focus in on images on your device so you can see much more clearly and avoid pulling the inner eye.

4. Looking after your eyes – If you can bear it, spend less time glued to your iPhone or Blackberry. And during this timeout, take some deep breaths to relax the face into a more natural expression, and gently massage the area around the eyes – a simple thing that can make a big difference to preventing those lines that starts subtly but can get deeper and more pronounced. Not only will your face be serene looking, you will feel more serene – and in a much better state to deal with any inbox horrors.

5. Don’t forget to smile! If you are experiencing stress from being constantly attached to your Smartphone, just think about the potentially negative effect this is having on your youthful appearance. Then, take time to do something that relieves the tension, like playing on a fun app, like TomCat or Angry Birds; this will help relax your face, soften your expression and prevent long term frown lines.
